The 'Deep Work' Playlist by REBEL

23rd August 2023

‘Deep work’ at REBEL is the time when the team does their work that requires more brain function in different ways. Some of the team are early birds, some night owls, some do their work in sprints, and some do marathons. But what we can all agree on is that the right music can uplift, inspire or even improve the efficiency of high-priority or deadline work.

Creating a focused and immersive playlist for the team to share and add to has helped some of us stay in a state of flow and make progress. As many of the team spend time working with numbers or writing content in some form or another we agreed that the perfect playlist for focus is one without lyrics.

REBEL is excited to share our ambient set list featuring instrumental tracks that are inspiring, motivating, and boost our concentration:

Ludovico Einaudi - Nuvole Bianche
Hans Zimmer - Time (from the Inception Soundtrack)
Satxri - Shamisen Hunter
Ólafur Arnalds - Near Light
Max Richter - On the Nature of Daylight
Explosions in the Sky - Your Hand in Mine
Hammock - Turn Away and Return
Tycho - A Walk
Rob Dougan - Clubbed to Death (Kurayamino Variation)
Helios - Coast Off
Lowercase Noises - A Little Lair for a Very Small Bear
Bonobo - Migration
Sigur Rós - Untitled #3 (Samskeyti)
Marconi Union - Weightless (Ambient Transmission Vol. 2)
Aphex Twin - Rhubarb

This playlist is an eclectic blend of ambient, modern classical, and electronic music. We feel that the lack of lyrics helps reduce distractions and keeps you focused (although we are partial to a gripping Podcast too). We would love for you to give this a go for an insight into how we work or let us know how you got on with this playlist.

Happy listening and good luck on your next deep-work session!
