Maria has a rich blend of experience, having worked in a variety of roles across advertising, media relations, journalism, graphic design, sports marketing, film festivals, project management, TV and video production. 

She studied economics at university, specialising in economic policy, which led to her first job as an economics researcher for a political party. Prior to joining The Think Tank, Maria worked as a communications and PR consultant for clients in the marine and boating industries.

Outside of work, Maria loves tea and cake, modern art and architecture, graphic design and typography, TV, and absorbing all kinds of magazines. She has lived in Lisbon, Amman, Rio de Janeiro, Kuwait, Budapest, Madrid and now London.

Maria has two cats and watches the news with them.
