SO Marketing is thrilled to announce the well-deserved promotion of Sam Hammonds. Recognising the outstanding contributions to the business, since joining SO back in November 2018.

In his previous role, Sam excelled at creating innovative and forward-thinking websites. While also supporting our SEO clients to improve their website's visibility. Demonstrating a remarkable combination of technical expertise and strategic insight. Over the years at SO, he has shown his passion for achieving meaningful results for our clients. Working closely with a range of businesses from the beginning of the website development process, to support them with ongoing technical development.

We asked Sam a few questions about his exciting new promotion and to reflect on his journey and progression at SO…
Tell us about your journey at SO Marketing

I joined the SO Marketing team following my apprenticeship at another digital agency in Stoke-on-Trent. Starting as a junior web developer, I’ve worked hard and continuously strived to progress my skills in the field. Maintaining the levelling up of the service that I can bring to clients. In 2020 I took off the training wheels of “Junior” and began to work on more bespoke projects and complex builds. In July 2022, I was offered the opportunity to head up the company's technical SEO service alongside the marketing team. An opportunity I jumped at to expand my knowledge of the more "behind-the-scenes" workings of web development. This allowed me to enhance the service that we as a team deliver to customers. Improving my arsenal to deliver high-quality and performing websites both visually and in visibility.

What’s been your greatest achievement while working here?

When I first started, my knowledge was limited. However, through dedicated effort and continuous learning, I have expanded my expertise exponentially. I've progressed from having a basic understanding to confidently navigating a diverse range of programming languages, frameworks, and technologies crucial to modern web development. Over time, I've tackled increasingly complex projects. Honing my problem-solving abilities and gaining valuable hands-on experience. This growth not only enhances my capabilities as a developer but also underscores my commitment to continual improvement in my craft.

How do you intend to propel the team forward in your new role?

I intend to propel the team forward by taking my skills to the next level. Bringing about processes that allow us to ensure that the work that leaves the studio is the best quality it can be for the client. I also want to be able to grow and enhance further the already great details that we are delivering in SEO.

What the future holds...

As a Senior Web Developer and SEO Lead, Sam will continue to leverage his skills to provide expert advice and support for our clients. Playing a pivotal role in developing our business’s strategies and processes. This promotion reflects SO Marketing’s commitment to nurturing talent from within. As well as recognising irreplaceable talent and the invaluable contributions of our team members.
