Mark West has been involved in internet technologies since 1998. 

His earlier career beginnings started with working part-time at Christmas at Argos. It was here that he developed a passion for retail. He worked his way up through various jobs and became a stock room manager for Shop Direct Group. This early career helped Mark to develop his love of and a core understanding of retailing.

By a quirk of circumstance, Mark started with the large US mining machinery organisation, Oldenburg Stamler Corporation. This was an exciting company, keen to use the latest technologies to communicate with their customers and partners. Mark developed their global website technologies in 1998. This project started Mark’s second passion.

He decided his future was to start his own business and so launched his first web design agency, Futuremark. Here, Mark applied his experiences of retail and internet technologies and launched his first commercial e-commerce platform in 1999.

Futuremark started slow but clients like Standen Homes and others trusted Mark to deliver on his promise of online prosperity - and slowly but surely (after a great deal of hard work and working through the night on too many occasions!) things started to move forward.

Now in 2014, Mark is still driven by a clear desire to achieve success and deliver on the promises made to many clients. His company, Remarkable.net, is one of the leading e-commerce agencies with specialisms in fashion retailing and lifestyle products. Apart from developing great designs and effective e-commerce platforms, his greatest pleasure is in helping his clients’ grow their sales revenues many times over in a short time period. Client results are his driving force. And yes, he still works through the night on occasions!
