Recommended Agencies discuss Bigger Issues and scoop up trophies at The Social Buzz Awards.

The Drum’s Social Buzz Awards celebrate the very best in effective Social Media campaigns and communication. This year, it is safe to say that TMW Unlimited stole the show.

There is a topic that is often seen as a taboo and not everyone is comfortable discussing - male suicide. TMW created the Bigger Issues campaign, alongside LYNX, Unilever and CALM, to highlight all of the trivial things we talk about through the use of memes, trending Christmas ads and the hashtag #BiggerIssues, which helped fuel a discussion around the taboo subject.

It is no wonder that TMW and the Bigger Issues campaign were awarded the coveted Grand Prix award. “It is absolutely incredible to win the Grand Prix” said Chris Pearce, CEO of TMW Unlimited. “It is fantastic for attracting new talent, as well as new clients, to the agency and it is incredible to be recognised for such a worthwhile cause”.

Bigger Issues also won Best Use of Insight/Monitoring and Best Viral Campaign. Not only that they were also awarded two commendations for this amazing campaign - Best Socially Responsive Initiative and Best Charity/Not for Profit Social Media Strategy/Campaign.

TMW’s very own Jaylee Miguel was also awarded Community Manager of the Year for being such an invaluable and incredible asset to both the account and social team.

Another Recommended Agency to win an award for opening the discussion about an important subject was Twentysix, who took home the trophy for Best Use of Group/Community. Twentysix worked alongside NHS Organ Donation as part of the Behaviour Change Strategy, which helped evolve their social audiences to openly talk about organ donation.

Other Recommended Agencies also won awards and commendations that night such as Jaywing for Largest ROI from Social Media Campaign or Strategy; Zone for Best Travel/Leisure/Sports Social Media Strategy/Campaign; and finally, Havas Media for Most Innovative Use of Social and Best Use of Social Media Advertising,

These awards and the winning agencies have all shown how important social media can be for opening-up discussions around difficult and taboo subjects.
