The Challenge
Translink, Northern Ireland's main public transport provider, was looking for a long-term, strategic partner to support their ongoing digital transformation.
MMT Digital was tasked with building its new website in order to offer customers a joined-up journey planning and ticket purchasing experience for the first time.
This complex project required putting in place the right architecture and infrastructure that delivers a seamless experience for the 1.6m passengers that depend on Translink’s services every week.
What We Did
We built a fully responsive platform to improve the digital experience and make it easy for customers to plan and purchase tickets.
We integrated the new platform with a wide number of legacy and third-party systems, including Mentz for journey planning and fares, Corethree for barcode ticket generation and NMI and PayPal for external payments.
The site is hosted on Microsoft Azure which offers a microservice architecture (to support rapid innovation in the future) and infrastructure such as elastic scaling (to ensure a consistently-quick yet cost-effective service at scale) and geo-replication (to guarantee business continuity.)
