The annual MMT Digital Quiz was once again a competitive and feisty affair last night. However, despite having all of the right ingredients; a room full of adrenaline fuelled athletes and a seemingly endless amount of take away pizzas, fortunately there were no scenes similar to the Man Utd vs Arsenal Pizzagate scandal!! The quiz consisted of 5 teams (Quiz Akabusi, Fat Kids, Cheque Book and Pen, Ceedy Wotsits, Opposite World and Nubs) competing over 8 rounds that covered various themes including film, sport, science and nature. 

Our Co-founders, Ben Rudman and James Cannings, returned for quiz master duties along with their jovial banter and Paxman like mocking for incorrect answers. After a close start with a few teams practically level pegging, a familiar pattern emerged. Quiz Akabusi, the champions in 2013 and 2014, started to get a lead….and they didn’t look back. Due to some of Quiz Akabusi’s team members’ fondness for Floyd Mayweather style arrogance and flashy behaviour, there were a number of people gunning for them. The problem was that those who would have loved nothing more than to topple the all-conquering quiz gladiators, simply did not have the knowledge weaponry to make even the slightest dent in a quickly established unassailable lead.

So the inevitable was confirmed and Quiz Akabusi reigned supreme again. Champagne flowed, paparazzi flashed their lenses and Kanye West stormed the stage to protest that there should have been a different winner.  Congratulations to Rich Madigan, Sunil Subrai, Mark Starling, Spencer Hopkinson, Yasser Abbasi and Ross Bentley-Davis. Will it be 4 in a row next year…..?
