My version of Kentico works for me, so why upgrade

23rd June 2015

Check out why we believe that upgrading to the latest version of Kentico is a good idea...

Every so often, there is a question we hear. Why upgrade our version of Kentico when we are happy and confident with the version we have? One of our Project Managers, Katherine Lord, explains why we recommend upgrading...

Kentico Version 8 has been on the market for a while now and we have spoken with a number of our clients about why we believe an upgrade is the best way to go. It can be a daunting experience, especially if it has been a while since your last upgrade and you are upgrading through several versions. We pride ourselves on our seamless process when implementing Kentico upgrade and thus keeping any disruption to your daily operations to an absolute minimum.

Here are my top 3 reasons for upgrading:

Fabulous New Features!

There are a number of great features that Kentico 8 has to offer, from the Form Builder to the improvement in the management of data from social media, version 8 has a lot to offer!

Kentico To the Rescue!

Kentico only offer support for three versions back. Keeping on top of upgrades means that you will never be without Kentico’s assistance, should any problems arise.

Kentico 8 is user friendly and we love it!

Kentico has now combined the Site Manager and the CMS desk, and features a dashboard on login, which you can customise for your requirements. The interface reflects the look and feel of the familiar Windows 8 and is user friendly and attractive. When you dig into the new admin area you will see that, although it looks very different when you first login, it is still the familiar Kentico system that you knew before, so it’s not quite as scary as you first thought

Kentico even provide a free 14 day trial so that you can get to know the new version before you make a decision. We recommend that upgrades are done regularly, particularly with major version releases. When planning for an upgrade, documentation and fully understanding the process you will need to go through are key to success, along with the all-important deployment plan for a smooth transition to your newly upgraded site.

We look forward to seeing what version 9 has to offer later this year!
