About

Rowena Solomon is a fellow member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a member of Association of Accounting Technicians (MAAT) having graduated in the early 1990’s.

She attended Guildhall University and the London School of Accountancy.

 

She decided on a career in Finance at the age of 15 as she enjoyed working with rules and formulas enjoying maths and statistics, even though she attempted a career in music at a very early stage due her love of the piano.

 

Her early career started in recruitment and quickly moved into Film and Media businesses where her expertise and commercial training grew. She was a former Financial Controller/ Director at a number of WPP plc companies where she became involved in some of the due diligence processes when acquisitions were made. She also managed a number of finance teams during her time at the group as well as being responsible for Human Resources. She was presented with a Credo (US) award during her time at a group company for her unwavering professionalism in her role.

 

She has held a few voluntary positions within charity organisations where she worked on creating financial strategies to deliver goals and objectives. She was treasurer and trustee for an orphanage in Zimbabwe where she made team visits to support the Mutoko community and children and trained the local treasurer.

 

She worked in a small London accountancy practice on a variety of audits before beginning her own small practice alongside another partner, although this did not include audits. She was keen to create jobs training student accountants helping them kick start their careers with some experience. She is also workplace mentor operating under the guidelines of the Association.

 

Rowena has continued to pursue some musical interests and performs locally and internationally in a vocal harmony trio; the group have performed in Europe, Africa and the Caribbean to date.

She also continues to play the piano.
