We've launched Manchester Uni's first online learning simulation website!

26th April 2013

The INK guys and gals are thrilled to have launched The University of Manchester’s first online learning simulation website for the very lovely people at the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work.

Sitting within the University’s secure server and only available to students and lecturers via a login, the site features video scenarios for students to learn and practise skills in a safe environment prior to practice placements.

The simulation website allows students to complete an online assessment for patients, with each stage timed and correct answers needed in order to move onto the next scenario and build up a full patient analysis.

Information is stored in each student’s profile which lecturers can then access to offer advice and solutions if incorrect answers are attempted. Students can also chat online through the site to receive peer-to-peer support throughout.

The project has been very successful, even being shortlisted internally at the University for an award for innovation in teaching and learning, and we’ve really enjoyed working with Andrew Hall and Colin Steen at The University of Manchester.
