Excitement levels are high at the We are Fred Headquarters right now as we bask in the glory of our Property Marketing Awards nomination. Our clever design team have been shortlisted for best place-making marketing in recognition of their work with the city of Chelmsford and the CM1STMAS retail campaign.

The Property Marketing Awards celebrate the most effective, innovative and creative marketing in the UK property industry. They offer a fantastic opportunity to be recognised for smart campaigns, business impact and talented teams so you can why we’re absolutely thrilled to have been recognised by the judges this year.

The creative behind the CM1STMAS campaign shows We are Fred’s placemaking capabilities at its very best. When we were first approached by Chelmsford to come up with a Christmas retail campaign, the creative team knew they needed to create a bespoke high-end timeless brand which would appeal to a wide range of audiences.

Using the central CM1 postcode as inspiration along with the Christmas theme, the now iconic ‘CM1STMAS’ brand was born. From designing the look and feel of the overall brand to pulling together the various elements, advertorials, video, magazine, website, We are Fred took care of it all.

The results of the campaign speak for themselves. The City of Chelmsford enjoyed an increase the footfall, encouraging new visitors to the area and resulted in a 10% increase in retail revenue. The CM1STMAS website received 5,000 hits in its first three weeks and it is estimated that the campaign reached over 13.2 million individuals.

Following the success of CM1STMAS, We are Fred are now working on the new brand for the entire City of Chelmsford which will launch later this summer. Working with One Chelmsford, the local Business Improvement District committee, the new brand will elevate the city’s business to a national audience.
