Strand PR supports Redwood Bank's jubilee tree project

15th June 2022

With the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year in full swing, we were happy to share news about a client’s royal tree planting.

Redwood Bank, a Hertfordshire Specialist Bank, celebrated the Jubilee by donating 600 trees as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy.

The bank joined the Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) project, a unique tree planting that is encouraging people to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.

The first of the 600 trees donated by the Bank to Hertfordshire County Showground, based near Redbourn, was planted on Friday, May 20, at a special ceremony attended by Lady Salisbury and the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire Robert Voss CBE.

Redwood representatives Tracey Lester, Head of HR, Andrew Shannon, ESG & Marketing Officer, and Business Development

Manager Nicola Blake also attended the event that received coverage locally and in trade press.

Gary Wilkinson, CEO and Co-Founder of Redwood Bank, said: “What better way to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee than by planting 600 trees and contributing to the environment. We are proud to be based in Hertfordshire, we’re proud to be supporting the county’s innovative and agile SME community, and we’re proud of this great county – so it was an easy decision to enhance the county’s showground by donating these trees.”

The QGC is encouraging everyone from individuals to Scout and Girlguiding groups, villages, cities, counties, schools and corporates to play their part in contributing to the environment by planting trees.

With a focus on sustainably, the QGC will encourage planting of trees to create a legacy in honour of The Queen’s leadership of the Nation, which will benefit future generations.

Laura Pearce, Strand’s Managing Director, said: “Celebrations will be hitting a crescendo over the bank holiday break as everyone comes together to mark the outstanding achievement of our Queen.

“We were delighted to be able to share the news from Redwood about its involvement in the Green Canopy project. What a fabulous legacy to be a part of.”
