Open Kitchens works with restaurants that have closed because of COVID-19 to get them back open and cooking meals for the vulnerable. Even though the restaurants can't serve customers in-house, their valuable resource is used to feed the community in times of need.

Creating a platform to feed those in need

After a detailed, exhaustive exploration phase and regular meetings with key decision-makers, it was highlighted that the existing site lacked a clear user direction, causing confusing navigation loops.

Headed up by the UX team, a lot of groundwork was put in to ensure the new site’s navigation and flow was natural and intuitive to use, promoting customer wet-tests and special offers.

Building a platform for good

Strafe Creative produced a website to introduce people to the charity and to give them the facility to donate money to their chosen restaurant. These donations would then go towards creating meals and the necessary logistics to deliver them to those in need. We partnered with multiple charities across the UK to be able to dispatch these free meals.

Interactive maps: the design of a simple UX process so users can easily navigate the map to find the correct restaurant.

Design of a food ordering app: Strafe were also tasked with the design of the food ordering app, to ensure users could easily and safely select the food they needed.
