Pearl & Dean launches B2C website built by SO Marketing

30th June 2021

Pearl & Dean is a company that needs no introduction. Synonymous with cinema advertising, it’s been around since 1953. In need of a customer facing website that could share real time insights with avid cinema goers, Pearl & Dean looked to existing partner SO Marketing.

After a successful design and development for the business to business website, Pearl & Dean wanted the customer website to have a similar feel. The striking photographs pull through from the latest archive of film releases. To enhance this, the site’s design is clean and focuses on ease of use. The site is full of informative content, from reviews to trailers, with the navigation centered around highlighting current films and helping users to find their closest cinemas.

The new site has a range of technical features working in the background to ensure it functions without the need for manual data implementation from the team. Self populating the news, reviews, cinemas and film times from an external data source automates most of the content seen by users. It pulls the films and trailers from its Salesforce CRM database and film artwork from the B2B site. The site intuitively checks for new films and reviews daily and pulls the information together itself before serving to the user.

Ian McNaught, Pearl & Dean brand director, states "After a fantastic experience working with SO Marketing on our business to business website it was a simple decision to choose them again when it came to rebuilding our consumer-facing site. As always, they were keen, insightful and innovative and they designed and built us a beautiful, easy to navigate site which went beyond our expectations. The SO team are a joy to work with - and proved very understanding and flexible when the pandemic shut down the cinema industry. I would have absolutely no hesitation in working with them on future projects."

James Aberley, senior partner at SO Marketing, “Working with Pearl and Dean was a dream client for us, especially those of us who remember the iconic ident before films from many years ago, and to be asked to work on a second full web project with them following the success of the first was amazing. We have delivered a truly extraordinary website which also involves a lot of complex back end data integration and will be used as a showcase of our work for years to come.”
