iCrossing supports YMCA DownsLink Group Challenge

Sponsorship - Events

Digital marketing agency iCrossing UK has named The YMCA DownsLink Group (YMCA DLG) as its charity partner for 2021. It kicked off the year with its first virtual sponsored virtual walk from iCrossing’s Brighton office to New York and is now supporting the charity with its YMCA DownsLink Challenge on Saturday July 17th, 2021.

The YMCA DownsLink Group (YMCA DLG) supports vulnerable people throughout Sussex and Surrey who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, with 24 hour supported accommodation and transitional housing projects. It also supports young people through mental health and advice services, counselling and youth support services.

On July 17th the Group is hosting a 16-mile challenge from Horsham to Shoreham-by-Sea (or in your own space) to raise money so that it can continue the work it is doing in the community. In addition to financial support, iCrossing is also lending its digital marketing expertise to YMCA DLG with its strategists, SEO experts and content creators working with the group to raise as much awareness and registrations for the walk as possible.

The event will operate in line with COVID-19 safety guidelines at the time. As such, YMCA DLG are asking for groups of 6 people maximum – the perfect opportunity to get friends, family and teams together! Alternatively, supporters wanting to walk or run closer to home and in their own time are also welcome. For more information or to register you can visit ymcadlg.org/ymca-downslink-challenge.

“iCrossing is a global digital marketing agency that has its roots in Brighton, having opened our first office in the town over 20 years ago. The team at iCrossing is committed and driven to giving back to the local community in and around our headquarters and we are really excited about having this opportunity to support youth in Brighton through this partnership,” added Martina Lacey, Head of New Business and Marketing at iCrossing. “We are thrilled that as an agency we can use our skills to help make the YMCA DownsLink Challenge a major success for YMCA DLG and hope that it becomes an annual event.”

Chas Walker, CEO YMCA DownsLink Group, said: “As the largest youth homelessness charity in the South East, we saw a staggering 61% increase in the number of young people presenting as homeless at the start of the pandemic compared to the same period last year. COVID-19 has also exacerbated emotional wellbeing and mental health problems for children and young people, but despite the challenges, we continue to deliver a wide range of vital housing services and support programmes that help young people to belong, contribute and thrive. Our partnership with iCrossing will only serve to boost and broaden the valuable life skills we can provide and we are excited about working with the team this year.”
