An innovative campaign with the UK’s most successful basketball team has netted Sheffield agency Hydra Creative a second award nomination.

The project has now been selected as one of the finalists in the Prolific North Tech Awards under the ‘tech for good’ category.

It shone a light on Sheffield Hatters, a volunteer-led women’s basketball club which was the first in the country when it launched back in 1961.
Hydra created stylish branding and a bold new website to represent the powerful women who are part of the team’s story,  including pioneering founder Betty Codona OBE.

This work has already seen the Hydra team scoop the platinum award in the international Hermes Creative Award 2022.

Ryan Daniels, managing director at Hydra, said: “To win one award for this work has been wonderful recognition for our team but to be nominated for a second is incredible.

“We are really proud of the new Hatters website, which is aimed at helping them to obtain new sponsorship and investment opportunities after the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Hopefully our team will soon be celebrating a double win with them at the Prolific North Tech Awards.”

The fourth Prolific North Tech Awards is to celebrate the thriving tech sector across the north and returns on October 27, 2022.
It will take place at the Hilton Deansgate in Manchester with industry leadwer judges including Ben Tan, Creative Technologist at Google.
