Elliot was a founder member of the Guardian’s multimedia department and is experienced in a wide variety of shooting styles and production techniques, including news, documentary, studio programming and live outside broadcasts.

He has extensive experience in training people to work in video and other forms of multimedia, having taught many of the Guardian’s reporters and photographers. His background as an actor also means he know what it’s like to appear in front of the camera, and having worked with a lot of print journalists he has plenty of experience coaching people onscreen who wouldn’t think of themselves as natural performers.

His work has won a number of awards, including first prize in the digital film category of the Press Photographer’s Year and first prize for digital creativity in the Association of Online Publishers awards.
