After leaving Cumbria College of Art and Design in the early eighties with a Distinction, Gary developed his career with a number of small, medium and large design consultancies in Edinburgh and the south of Scotland. In the early nineties Gary was offered a senior position with one of north Lancashire's longest established design companies, Rowland & Hird, based in Lancaster city centre. With the growth of the business came the offer of a Partnership which saw Gary's role as key contact to the businesses main account, Reebok UK. This role involved managing a high value contract in design, print and account handling for high profile campaigns in the UK, and into Europe. Other clients over the seven year Partnership included Tayflite, aviation, The Mental Health Care Group and Gott Foods amongst many others, all widely diverse sectors adding to, and developing, Gary's skills and levels of expertise. In early 2005, with 20 years of creative industry experience under his belt, Gary struck out and set up G1 Creative, based on the beautiful Dalton Hall Estate in south Cumbria. With a well balanced growth in turnover and an ever increasing client list, G1 has recently been awarded a major contract with NHS Cumbria which involved complete re-branding and implementation of all communications materials throughout Cumbria, including all print and online presence.
